Rob Garcia began boxing and surfing at an early age. Surfing on the island of kauai, Rob learned the power of the ocean. In 1994, Rob arrived in San Diego continuing amateur boxing, Rob got the opportunity to train Hawaii's Jesus Salud, a seasoned veteran with over 70 fights. That was his 1st time up to Big Bear, CA where he worked alongside David Love to prepare Jesus for a big fight. Rob continued his studies at SDSU, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and the Chek Institute. In 1996, Rob was selected to the 1996 Olympic Games boxing staff in Atlanta where he had a chance to work with Fernando Vargas, Floyd Mayweather Sr., Eric Morel, Antonio Tarver and David Lopez. In 1997, Rob was hired by the great Sunny Garcia and went on to help him win the 2000 ASP Surfing World title. In the same year, Rob coached Noah Johnson to win the Eddie Aikau Big Wave title at Waimea Bay. In January of 2000, Rob was hired along with Floyd Mayweather Sr. to coach Oscar De La Hoya. Team De La Hoya went on to win 5 world titles in 4 weight classes that opened the door to the MMA World. In 2002, Ricco Rodriguez UFC title over Randy Couture, Kalani Robb surfing championship at US Open, then adding tremendous victories with KJ Noons, Diego Sanchez, Kelly Slater, Andy & Bruce Irons. Currently, he trains Makua Rothman 2015 WSL Big Wave world champ. Liev Schreiber, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok and Jon Voight, along with a host of Hollywood A-List stars.
